Case Competition

Take the stage with your best case

The popular Osteology Case Competition returns at the International Osteology Symposium Vienna 2026, offering clinicians the opportunity to present their work to a global audience. 

More than 260 cases were submitted across six competition categories. The best cases in each category were selected and will be presented during the Osteology Case Session. The finalists will compete for the prestigious Osteology Case Award and present their cases live on stage in Vienna.

 

The finalists in each category are: 

  1. Alfonso Gil (Spain) - Ridge preservation & immediate implant placement watch the case
  2. Antonio Liñares (Spain) - Soft-tissue augmentation / regeneration around teeth watch the case
  3. Li Ma (China) - Sinus augmentation watch the case
  4. Marco Castiglioni (Italy) - Soft-tissue augmentation / regeneration around implants watch the case
  5. Waishan Lam (China) - Vertical and horizontal bone augmentation watch the case
  6. Yoshitaka Nara (Japan) - Periodontal regeneration watch the case

 

Osteology Case Award

Among the six presentations in the Osteology Case Session, the jury will select a winner. The winner will receive an award and a prize of € 1’500.

Evaluation criteria

  • Evidence-based approach
  • Good outcome
  • Good quality of pictures
  • Biological principles behind the technique
  • Creativity and originality of the treatment
  • Complete documentation (incl. patient information and parameters)
  • Follow-up of at least 6 months post-surgical, and at least 2 additional timepoints documented
